It's not easy to find the first time, but is well worth the effort. Set in the patio and ground-floor rooms of the old house, brimming with candles and bougainvilla, the atmosphere perfectly complements the food, which is Mediterranean-creative, and very good value for money. Cook Gustavo Tempesta offers a highly original set menu that changes every day and a selection of mouth-watering tapas. Cocktails and a very good selection of wines, Mallorcan and Spanish, are available at the bar, and there is live music on many nights. Every two weeks a night of Art and Gastronomy includes projections and special shows with a theme menu.
The Sa Taronja Cultural Association, housed in an old chicken farm on the outskirts of Andratx has a full program of cultural activities that include a Jazz Club, a monthly chamber music concert, performances of folk, rock, blues and world music, and regular dance and theatre classes. The former industrial chicken sheds have been transformed into galleries, a theatre, many artists' studios and a giant dance bar, Sa Nau, where many events take place and a daily lunch menu is offered. Every October the centre is home to the International PING Festival of experimental art and music. Limón y Chelo is part of the centre and just a few paces away from the theatre and dance hall, making it easy to combine a meal and a show.
