Here, owner Bhupendra Gupta has brought his extensive knowledge of Indian gastronomy to the island of Mallorca, offering his customers a unique and personalised dining experience. At Baisakhi there is only one tasting menu which changes frequently - explained in detail by Mr Gupta himself. The decor is also unique, as all antique pieces in the restaurant have been carefully chosen to create an authentic Indian atmosphere.
A year and a half ago, Mr Gupta decided to open up another restaurant called Le Taj, but he didn't want quite the same set up as Baisakhi, so he decided to offer 5 different tasting menus, each created to give his clients an idea of some of the different tastes and flavours of Indian gastronomy. One of the menus is specially designed for vegetarians. The magnificent decor at Le Taj includes teak doors from Indian palaces that are 300 years old and statues of Indian gods, like Ganesh and Laxmi. It took Mr Gupta eight years to collect all the antique pieces and bring them over from India and another year to lovingly create the beautiful decor at Le Taj.
Whether you decide to visit Baisakhi or Le Taj, you can be sure to enjoy an authentic experience of India of the highest culinary standards.
